CANTON– The Madison County Business League & Foundation (MCBL&F) and the Madison County Economic Development Authority (MCEDA) today announced that MCEDA Executive Director, Joey Deason, will be the keynote speaker at the 10th annual Vision Celebration Luncheon on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at the Country Club of Jackson.  The title of his presentation is “The Road Ahead: Pathway to Success.” 450 members, elected officials and guests are attending.

Joseph Deason states, “As the leader of economic development for Madison County, MCEDA’s mission is to encourage growth of the county’s existing business and industry, attract new investment and higher-paying jobs, increase Madison County’s competitive edge by leading towards a diverse, vibrant economy benefitting all the county’s citizens.”

The 2018 VISION Award and the 2018 VISIONARY Leadership Award will be presented as a means of recognizing and thanking certain stand out Madison County businesses and individuals for their contributions to the community.  By contributions we mean their unique or remarkable accomplishments, their investments in people, and the resulting impact that their operations have on the local area economy. This year’s recipient of the Vision Award is the DeBeukelaer Corporation, maker of Pirouline cookies in Gluckstadt.  Dr. Nancy New, Families First for Mississippi, New Summit Schools, and MS Community Education Center will be presented the Visionary Leadership and Sarah Beth Wilson will receive the 2018 Outstanding Madison County Young Professional award.

Past VISION winners include C Spire, Levi Strauss & Company, Nissan North America, BankPlus, St. Dominic Health Services, Merit Health Madison, Butler Snow and Madison County Schools.  Past VISIONARY Leadership Award winners include H.C. (Buster) Bailey, Doug Hederman, Joel Bomgar, Superintendent Mike Kent, Jo Ann Gordon, Dr. David Powe, and David Landrum.

Miss Mississippi 2018 Asya Danielle Branch will provide entertainment along with the Raphael Semmes Jazz Ensemble.

The Madison County Business League & Foundation was created in 2008 by the Madison County Economic Development Authority (MCEDA) and the Madison County Board of Supervisors to promote economic planning and development.
