MCEDA’s mission is to encourage the growth of the county’s existing business and industry, attract new investment and higher-paying jobs, and to increase Madison County’s competitiveness leading to a diverse, vibrant economy benefitting all the county’s citizens.

Located in Mississippi’s largest MSA, Madison County is one of the fastest growing counties in the state, with an 8.1% population growth over the past 5 years. For the past two years, Madison the City has been voted the best place to live in Mississippi by Mississippi Magazine and Ridgeland was voted by Expedia as Top 50 most comfortable places to live in the U.S. Within just a short drive, many people enjoy the activities the Jackson metro has to offer such as over 560 restaurants, 58 parks, 639 churches, 485 retail establishments, 14 golf courses, and 31 museums.

Quality of Life

Madison County offers a variety of outdoor activities for everyone. The Natchez Trace boasts several miles of biking and running trails and is considered a U.S. National Park. Madison County is also home to several beautiful golf courses around the area and the Ross Barnett Reservoir. The Reservoir is a 33,000-acre lake that brings an approximate 2.5 million visitors each year where people can enjoy a variety of activities such as boating and fishing.
