
Serving Madison County's local air needs is Bruce Campbell Field. Bruce Campbell Field serves as an ideal place for private and corporate jets. Bruce Campbell Field has a runway measuring 4444 feet and is equipped to handle various types of aircraft from the smallest plane to bigger sized planes such as King Air and Citation. Lear jets can also land at Bruce Campbell Field. The staff at the facility is prepared to provide comprehensive customer service to its patrons providing services such as fueling, hangar service, catering for events, limousines, taxis, and rental cars.
Bruce Campbell Field began as a training station during World War II for the area. Now the airport serves approximately 90 corporate and private customers and averages about 4,000 landings per year.
In 2004, plans were drawn and a budget of $5.5 million was set to make improvements to Bruce Campbell Field. The improvements include relocating and remodeling the existing terminal on the property. The new terminal will house a passenger terminal, location for flight schools currently held at the airport, other offices for staff, and a pilot’s lounge. The improvements are geared at improving the overall function and efficiency of the airport.
