Unionization Rate

Employer-Employee relations in Mississippi are very stable and the state consistently ranks as one of the least unionized in the nation. In 2003, only 5% of Mississippi’s workforce claimed membership to a Union. That statistic is much lower than the U.S. membership at 12.9%.

In addition, Mississippi is a right to work state. This guarantees, through the State constitution, an individual's freedom of choice regarding union membership.
